MuslinZ Prefold Nappies are an easy to use and cost-effective washable and reusable nappy system. These nappies are soft, breathable and gentle on your baby’s delicate skin. They are made from 100% OEKO-Tex certified cotton. They are available in 2 sizes to fit from newborn to 9 months, and from 6 to 30 months

Prefold nappies are rectangles of material sewn together. The material is sewn into three sections, with more layers of fabric in the centre third than the outer two thirds. These are then folded twice to make a long rectangle and gives a multi-layer pad nappy.

These 100% cotton muslin prefolds nappies have 4-6-4 layers of material in each section, so when folded into 3 have 14 layers of absorbency.  Size 1 nappies measure 28 x 36 cm / 11 x 14 inches (approx) unfolded and fit from birth to approx. 9 months. Size 2 nappies measure 30 x 43 cm / 12 x 17 inches (approx) unfolded and fit from approx. 6 to 30 months.

MuslinZ Cotton Prefold Nappies are designed for great absorbency whilst also being soft and gentle against your baby’s skin.

Prefold nappies need a waterproof cover / wrap. MuslinZ Nappy Wraps have a flap at the front and back to hold the prefold nappy in place, but these prefolds can be used with any brand of waterproof cover.

Prefold Nappy Washing Instructions

For best results, wash the prefolds before use at 40°C to enhance absorbency and extend their lifespan. Expect approx 5% shrinkage on the first wash. Washed muslin material becomes ‘crinkled’ when washed and this is perfectly normal.

After pre-washing, your muslin prefolds can be machine washed at 40-60 degrees.  Do not use fabric conditioner as this coats the fibres and reduces absorbency. Air drying is best, but can be tumble dried when necessary for ongoing maintenance. Full absorbency is achieved after 3-4 washes.
